However, they still believe in the legacy of their ancestors' animist beliefs, namely Sape' Karaang as a sacred musical instrument practiced in the Hudo' ritual. Thus, this research aims to analyze how the belief in the sacredness and practice of Sape' Karaang can survive amid changes in the religious system of the Dayak Bahau community in Samarinda City. This research uses qualitative methods with observation, data collection and data analysis techniques. Data collection techniques include literature study, interviews, and documentation. Data found in the field were collected and then analyzed. The results showed that the reason for the survival of the belief in the sacredness of Sape' Karaang in the Dayak Bahau community in Samarinda City is due to the reinterpretation by their traditional leaders of past animist sacred sources. Furthermore, the results of this interpretation form a new perception in the Dayak Bahau community of the sacredness of Sape' Karaang. For this reason, Sape' Karaang is still believed to be sacred and practiced by the Dayak Bahau community, which in turn has implications for their cultural identity in Samarinda City.
2024-10-30T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2024 Yudi Syahputra, Bayu Arsiadhi Putra, Aris Setyoko (Author)https://jurnal.fib-unmul.id/mebang/article/view/95Musik Klentangan Kutai sebagai Media Sinkretisme dalam Upacara Bekenjong di Desa Bensamar Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara2024-08-05T07:45:27+08:00Arief Fajriannurtiungkutai@gmail.comAsril Gunawanasril.gunawan@fib.unmul.ac.idAris Setyokoaris.setyoko@fib.unmul.ac.id
Bekenjong is one of the ritual ceremonies that are owned by the people of Kutainese ethnic group in the regency of Kutai Kartanegara. Bekenjong ceremony is functions as a media of traditional medication to pay promises and to prevent disasters, usually accompanied by the Klentangan music ensemble, which is played with the musical instrument Klentangan, Babon Drum, and Gong. Bekenjong in its play cannot be implemented without Klentangan music. Music is an important aspect in Bekenjong, because Klentangan music is a media that connects between Pebelian with the realm of gods. This research uses descriptive qualitative method that covers data collection, observation, and data analysis technique. This research uses Weighted Scale technique by William P, and syncretism concept by Ralph Beals. The results of Bekenjong ceremony research shows that Klentangan music ensemble functioned as a media of syncretism. The process of Bekenjong ceremony then adjusted so that the traditions and customs of the ancestors were able to maintain without any conflicts with social norms or even current beliefs.
2024-10-30T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2024 Arief Fajriannur, Asril Gunawan, Asril Gunawan, Aris Setyoko (Author)https://jurnal.fib-unmul.id/mebang/article/view/118Bentuk Penyajian dan Fungsi Kidungan Malam Midodareni di Dukuh Biru Kecamatan Wonosari Kabupaten Klaten2024-08-05T07:48:53+08:00Mohammad Brian Sasongkomohammad99brian@gmail.comBondan Aji Manggalabondanmanggala@gmail.com
Kidungan malam midodareni is a song or tembang macapat that is presented in a series of events on the eve of the marriage contract and panggih manten wedding ceremony in Dukuh Biru, Wonosari District, Klaten Regency, Central Java. Kidungan midodareni night is still preserved because people still consider it important and has social values. This article's writing is motivated by the younger generation's lack of interest in the midodareni night song tradition. The aim is to provide knowledge to the younger generation and the wider community about the general understanding of Kidungan Malam Midodareni, presentation procedures, functions, and how the midodareni night song tradition plays a role as a guardian of social stability in society. Qualitative research is used in this article using data observation, interviews, literature study, documentation, and interpretative descriptive analysis techniques. Richard Schechner's theoretical perspective is used to describe the form of presentation, while Alan P. Merriam's music function theory perspective is used to analyze the function of the midodareni night song. This research found that the presentation form of midodareni night song has three structures, namely (1) Preparation, (2) Performance, and 3) After the performance. The function of Kidungan Malam Midodareni is correlated in two parts, namely the function for the bride and groom and the function for the community; there are four elements of the position, namely: (1) as a means of communication, (2) as a means of community integrity, (3) as a means of entertainment, and (4) as a means of validating social institutions.
2024-10-30T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2024 Mohammad Brian Sasongko, Bondan Aji Manggala (Author)https://jurnal.fib-unmul.id/mebang/article/view/134Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Mood Belajar Piano Siswa Christina Music Course Tarutung2024-08-05T07:49:43+08:00Christina Harianti Sitoruschristinahariantis@gmail.comMauly Purbamaulypurba@yahoo.com
This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the piano learning mood of Christina Music Course Tarutung students. This research is a type of qualitative research by observing artistic phenomena, especially regarding the factors that influence the Piano Learning Mood of Christina Music Course Tarutung Students. Data collection techniques using interviews and observation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. This research was carried out at Christina Music Course Tarutung. To be able to play the piano, a person must understand basic music theory and understand the basic techniques of playing music. However, this is not only related to the theory of playing the piano, but the student's piano learning mood also greatly determines success in learning the piano. Mood has a positive and negative influence on student learning depending on how students respond to factors that influence mood. Students at CMC Tarutung feel that there are many factors that determine their mood, one of which is activities outside of the course which are quite tiring which has an impact on their mood.
2024-10-30T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2024 Christina Sitorus, Mr. Mauly Purba (Author)https://jurnal.fib-unmul.id/mebang/article/view/150Aktivitas Fundamental Matematika dalam Bentuk Gending Ladrang Gaya Surakarta2024-09-30T16:54:03+08:00Sri Lestariningsihtariariawan@gmail.com
This research aims to carry out an analysis related to fundamental mathematical activities through reading the structure of the Surakarta style gending ladrang form. The main focus is to examine the implementation of mathematical principles and concepts in the rhythmic structure of the gending ladrang form. Ladrang has a drum pattern that forms a rhythmic structure consisting of kethuk, kenong, kempul, and gong with a distinctive repetition. The distinctive nature of the repeatability of the rhythmic structure shows the identity of ladrang-shaped gending which differentiates it from other forms of gending. This research was conducted using qualitative methods using data collection techniques based on literacy studies related to musical and ethnomathematics texts. The research stages carried out include collecting literature; data reduction and triangulation; analysis of the rhythmic structure of the ladrang gending form; interpretation and generalization related to the implementation of principles and concepts of fundamental mathematical activities in the form of gending ladrang; as well as compiling analysis results. This research shows that the gending ladrang form has a rhythmic structure that implements fundamental mathematical activities in a complex manner. Implementation of mathematical principles is demonstrated through repetition and cycles. Meanwhile, the implementation of mathematical concepts is demonstrated through grouping, division, multiplication, sets, forward counting and skip counting. The results of this research enrich the analysis of musical instruments, namely through an ethnomathematics perspective which shows the appearance, implementation and correlation of mathematics in Surakarta style Javanese musical culture.
2024-10-30T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2024 Sri Lestariningsih (Author)
